Inter-School Quiz on IITK-BMTPC Earthquake Tips holds special significance as
it commemorates the 25th anniversary of the 2001 Bhuj (Gujarat) earthquake.
To mark this day, the National Information Centre of Earthquake Engineering
(NICEE) is conducting two major events: the EQ tips quiz and a dedicated
speech contest. - The Earthquake Tips
Quiz The quiz will be conducted in
both physical and virtual formats to encourage widespread participation.
Shortlisted candidates will compete in the final round on January 26, 2026,
at the Outreach Auditorium, IIT Kanpur. - NICEE-CSI Student
Speech Contest In addition to the quiz, NICEE is conducting "NICEE-CSI
Student Speech Contest: Advocating for Seismic Safety". Open to
students in Grades 8 through 12, this competition challenges participants to
deliver a compelling 3-minute speech (approximately 300 words). The aim is to
encourage the general public to prioritize earthquake preparedness, ensuring
that future seismic events do not lead to the devastation experienced in the
past. 3. National Seminar on Earthquake Safety
