Activities

The following are the salient activities under the NPEEE:

  • Short-term and medium-term (1 semester) training of teachers of engineering colleges, polytechnics and architecture colleges;
  • International exposure of a limited number of young teachers;
  • Partial travel support for international conference visits by a large number of teachers (to provide exposure on international state-of-the-art in this subject);
  • Visits by a few international experts to resource institutions (for developing short-term and long-term collaborations);
  • Develop teaching aids, course materials, text books, manuals, and commentaries;
  • Develop modest teaching laboratories in ~10 engineering colleges;
  • Strengthen the advanced teaching and research laboratories resource institutes;
  • Provide library resources in earthquake engineering to about 100 engineering colleges; and
  • Organize workshops and conferences to share ideas and sensitize stakeholders in earthquake disaster mitigation.
